Congratulations to the 2009 Beckman Coulter Student Travel Grant winners.
This is the second year for the grant. Thanks to the generosity of Beckman Coulter, $5,000 was available to six students to help pay some of their expenses to attend and experience the Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo.
To be considered for the grant, applicants must be: a current ASCLS student member and registered for a full student annual meeting registration at the time of receipt of the application to the ASCLS office. To receive the grant, grantees must: attend all student forum events at the annual meeting; attend the Issues Update, the Professional Issues Open Forum and the House of Delegates; attend a photo shoot at the ASCLS and sponsor exhibit booths; and submit a one-page summary of your experiences within 2 weeks of the end of the annual meeting.
The application for the grant asked each student, "Why do you want to attend the 2009 meeting?" Excerpts of their responses appear in our slideshow.
