ASCT will be holding its Annual Scientific Conference April 19-21 at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scottsdale, located in the Sonoran desert, is a vibrant city with numerous options for visitors looking for a new adventure. Explore the desert with a guided excursion, or take a tour of the city's many museums. Opportunities for shopping abound in the over 250 stores located in Scottsdale's Fashion Square and many more along Scottsdale's waterfront. At night the city comes alive with over 80 bars, lounges, and clubs all within walking distance of each other. During the day, switch to a different kind of club and check out one of Scottsdale's many golf courses. With nearly 330 days of sunshine per year, Scottsdale is known as one of the world's best golfing locations. Once you're done exploring relax in one of Scottsdale's many spa and wellness facilities. There is truly something for everyone in the city known as "The West's Most Western Town". For more information visit www.experiencescottsdale.com. Arrive a day early and join us on the 18th for a tour of Scottsdale's Desert Botanical Garden, followed by dinner in Old Town Scottsdale and an opportunity to explore the surrounding area.

This year's conference offers a mix of interesting and informative talks. Dr. Matthew Zarka of the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale AZ will speak on challenging FNA cases. Amy Wendel-Spiczka, also of the Mayo Clinic will present "UroVysion FISH Testing in the Cytopathology Laboratory: Cytotechnologists' Skills and Contributions to Patients", and Dr. Jeffrey Krane of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA will give a talk on glandular lesions. This year's breakout sessions include Video Microscopy Tutorials on ASC-US and ASC-H diagnoses, salivary gland cytology, and FNA immediate assessment; as well as discussions a collaborative approach to cervical cancer screening, diagnosis of respiratory tract malignancies, advances in telepathology, and laboratory management. In addition, the Conference will again feature interesting case presentations given by cytology students from across the country.

ASCT's scientific conferences are not only educational; they're also a lot of fun. Our annual Friday night reception is a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and even make some new ones. It's also a great opportunity to do a little shopping at our very popular Annual Silent Auction to benefit the ASCT Foundation.

If you have never attended one of our conferences we strongly encourage you to do so. For more information please visit our website at www.asct.com. Be sure to register before March 19 to receive a reduced rate!
