Whether it just slipped your mind, or you were too busy to deal with it earlier, the deadline to earn continuing education credits (CEUs) always seems to be at hand. Well ADVANCE and the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) make it easier for you to get the credits you need!

You can earn up to six P.A.C.E.^®-approved contact hours in just a few hours-and have the test results within seconds-through ADVANCE's Learning Scope Online.

ADVANCE and the ASCLS jointly offer a means for you to read Learning Scope continuing education articles (good for 2 years from publication date in ADVANCE), answer the test questions and pay for the test via your credit card-all online! Once you've submitted your payment and test answers, you'll receive your pass-fail grade in the time it takes to look for a pencil to write it down. (If you're not in a hurry for the results, you can still earn CEUs either by reading the article in our print magazine and mailing your test answers with the appropriate payment to the ASCLS, or by reading the article here, on our Web site, then printing the answer sheet and mailing it with your payment.)

Here's how the online Learning Scope test-taking process works:

1. The links below offer a list of Learning Scope articles. Click on the headline of the Learning Scope article that interests you. The article, objectives and test questions will appear.

2. When you have finished reading the article, click on the Take this exam online with ASCLS link, which will open up a second browser window. This will take you to the online exam registration page where you will be able to select the Learning Scope exam of your choice. (Note: Do not close out of the original browser window or you will not be able to refer back to the article while taking the exam.) Select the appropriate Learning Scope exam from the drop-down menu in "Step 1." Then, fill out your contact information in "Step 2." Continue on the payment information page ($15 for ASCLS members; $20 for non-members).

3. After you have completed the payment section and your credit card information has been approved, you will proceed to the online exam.

4. After you submit your exam answers, your score will be posted immediately. P.A.C. E. credits will be awarded to those who score 70% or better. This information is automatically e-mailed to the ASCLS P.A.C.E.^® office for processing. Participants who pass the exam will receive their P.A.C.E.^® certificate from ASCLS within 6-8 weeks from the time they take the exam.
