Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center invited fifth, sixth and seventh graders from Indigo Christian Junior Academy in Daytona Beach to spend a week at the hospital, learning about the body system from various physicians and hospital departments.
During one lesson, the students visited the hospital's laboratory and examined a diabetic's amputated foot, infected with gangrene, as well as a lung lobe complete with a tumor.
